Exotic Delicacy

These are maggots form sago plant (if you know what it is). They are of about 2.5" X 1" in size and are white and pluffy. They are said to be a local delicacy of high protein and nutrient. They are the traditional food of a local tribe in Sarawak, Malaysia. I found them in the market during a recent trip to Kuching, Sarawak's capital.

Rumors has it that a little boy eat one of these maggot without proper treatment and end up dead with a hole to his stomach!! It is up to you not to believe this but I really do. So if you'd like to have a taste of this "delicious" exotic food, make sure you find someone who knows how to prepare them.
